Kheer Bhawani

The temple complex is known for its beautiful surroundings, including a sacred spring where devotees believe that the water changes colors to predict the future. The color of the water is said to indicate the future well-being of the Kashmiri Pandit community and the region as a whole. The temple hosts an annual festival called "Zyeth Atham" or "Jyeshtha Ashtami," which falls in the Hindu month of Jyeshtha (May-June). During this festival, thousands of devotees gather at the temple to seek blessings from the goddess. The significance of Kheer Bhawani extends beyond its religious importance. It serves as a cultural and historical symbol for the Kashmiri Pandit community, who faced displacement and hardships due to the conflict in the region. The temple stands as a reminder of their heritage and traditions.
